Our People
Paul Mashburn earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Accounting from UNC-Asheville, where he was a member of the academic honors society, Sigma Beta Delta. Paul continued his accounting studies in the master’s program for Professional Accounting at Georgia State University. Areas of concentration included accounting systems and the construction industry.
In addition to preparing financial statements and tax returns Paul has experience in analyzing areas of profitability and developing custom job and financial reports. He has a particular interest in establishing account systems and controls to improve financial reporting and increase profitability.
He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, North Carolina Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Construction Financial Management Association.
Paul enjoys spending time with his three children, mountain biking and flying.
Susan Wolfe Wait | Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant
Susan Wolfe Wait earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Management from the University of North Carolina-Asheville and began her career as an Account Coordinator for a local advertising agency. After spending time raising four children with her husband, Steve, she rejoined the workforce and found a home in finance and operations. Following in her mother’s and sister’s footsteps, bookkeeping is the avenue for Susan to combine her interests in accounting and her commitment to serving others.
Susan joined the Mashburn CPA team in 2022. When she isn’t in the office, Susan stays busy baking sweet treats for her family and quilting. Although she has been known to play an occasional game of intense badminton, she also enjoys beating her children at Mario Party and spending time at home with Steve and their two German Shepherds.
